About the Role:
Mission seeks a Title Specialist to support growth and execution on our rapidly expanding solar and standalone storage project pipeline. The ideal candidate will have a strong title background, ideally in the utility-scale renewable energy industry, and will support an existing team of exceptional development managers, project developers, and associates.
The Title Specialist will be responsible for obtaining, reviewing, and making recommendations on title matters for the company in support of land acquisition negotiations as well curative work for more advanced projects.
This candidate will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will work closely with our growing cross-functional group that includes representation from finance, engineering, GIS, real estate, permitting, transmission/interconnection, and revenue contract origination.

Key Responsibilities
The Title Specialist will work with our real estate, development, and legal teams alongside outside title companies, surveyors, and other contractors on land and lease issues such as:
- Confirming vesting and legal descriptions for land acquisition and asset management. Research ownership and tax records, local recording regulations, and review documents for adherence to those regulations.
- Ordering, reviewing and analyzing all title commitments and pro forma title policies to identify title exception items, identifying encumbrances and flaws for greenfield sites and existing projects
- Creating and maintaining title curative matrices and determining title curative action plans.
- Maintaining records of completed and outstanding documents.
- Implement title curative efforts including preparing, negotiating, coordinating, and tracking the execution of title curative documents and agreements required for title insurance policies or working with legal counsel to do the same.
- Prepare and maintain up to date files and records on status and present progress reports on title curative efforts for projects.
- Obtaining SDNA’s, probate documents, trust documents, and other curative items.
- Analyzing ALTA surveys for projects.
- Provide training and educational opportunities to the development team on title and curative title matters.
Desired Qualifications
The successful candidate must have utility-scale renewable energy experience, as well as the following experiences, skills, and attributes.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
- 2+ years in the renewable energy industry.
- 4+ years of experience in title insurance, real estate, or leasing contract experience with a strong preference for individuals with paralegal experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of title, trust, and probate documents.
- Strong program management skills and experience managing multiple projects within a portfolio, managing priorities with regular adjustment to new information from the market.
- Ability and inclination to continually evaluate business needs and practices while successfully facilitating problem solving and improvements.
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and work effectively with cross-functional employee groups; we’re looking for people whose references will say you’re a great teammate.
- A valid driving license.
- Ability and willingness to travel within the United States as much as 15% of the time, or as required by project needs.

Compensation: $75,000-130,000 annual salary + bonus, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
